Elaborately dressed fans gathered for the final day of New York Comic Con on Sunday.
The four-day event returned to the Big Apple last week after being replaced by a virtual event last year due to the pandemic.
All attendees older than 12 were required to provide proof of vaccination to attend the event, held at the Jacob K.Javits Convention Center, where guests were also required to wear masks.
The face coverings were incorporated into attendees’ famously meticulous costumes, which transform them into their favorite film, TV, video game and comic book characters.Â
Along with long-standing favorites like Batman and Spider-man, attendees also dressed up as more recent hit characters, such as Baby Yoda from Disney+’s The Mandalorian and Marvel’s Black Widow.Â
The event included panel discussions with the main cast of Amazon hit The Boys, and meet and greets with a raft of celebrities including Star Trek legends William Shatner and George Takei.    Â
The convention also featured several events centered around the business and hobbying of cosplay – in which people wear costumes to transform themselves into a specific character.
